1.
Who for the thought of me drove him to her.
Bringing their path closer more and more.
Separated only just by time, distance, and chance.
2.
He, Who despite the persistent blockages of life.
And the persistent resistance from her persisted.
Like in a tunnel, saw a light, me.
3.
He who against all odds.
Made a dream of me in his heart.
And worked on it coming to pass.
4.
He who laboured in the fields.
Both in ash and favourable conditions.
Not minding the vulnerabilities of the times.
5.
He who cut and put up trees.
He who tilled and cultivated the soil.
Under the sun and in the rain.
6.
He who crossed villages, towns, cities.
He who trekked and paddled.
Both under the sun and in the rain.
7.
All these and more, you did.
Just for me, you did.
Just to make me a better person than you were.
8.
Holding his hands while walking,
Was like having every good thing I ever needed in my hands.
And his walking-stick I was called by his pairs.
9.
My father,
My thoughts, you guided with words of wisdom.
And taught my infant heart, on God, to stay.
10.
My father,
Your works, can I ever repay?
Your care and love, can I ever show?
11.
Your voice I hear,
Your Image I see,
With every passing day.
12.
God knew why He let me choose you.
Your name will I ever raise.
I pray I’m half as lowly and subtle as you.
13.
When I go, your words lead me.
When I sleep, your words keep me.
When am awake, they talk to me.
14.
In a world like ours,
One cannot, but keep asking for more.
But your bit, my father, you did.
15.
Thank you, my father.
I pray to fail you not.
Keep working to raise your name I must.
Where do you get the inspiration from, writing all these poems.
ReplyDeleteMy father. I wish I can write something like this for my father.
I love every bit of it. It's so touching.
This is so emotional.
