Be Inspired - Story Of An Elephant and a Dog

An elephant and a dog became pregnant at the same time. Three months down the line the dog gave birth to six puppies. Six months later the dog was pregnant again, and nine months on it gave birth to another dozen puppies. The pattern continued. On the eighteenth month, the dog approached the elephant questioning, "Are you sure that you are pregnant? We became pregnant on the same date, I have given birth three times to a dozen puppies and they are now grown to become big dogs, yet you are still pregnant. What's going on?" The elephant replied, "There is something I want you to understand. What I am carrying is not a puppy but an elephant. I only give birth to one in two years. When my baby hits the ground, the earth feels it. When my baby crosses the road, human beings stop and watch in admiration, what I carry draws attention. So what I'm carrying is mighty and great." Don't lose faith when you see others receive answers to their prayers. Don't be e...

Time - Poem

TIME Speaking!!! 1. Trust me, I’m in your beginning, In-between. And in your end. 2. I’m a part you can’t do without. An entity of immeasurable worth. A unit of the highest value. A mystery in essence. 3. Your future, I determine Your goals, I monitor Your achievements All, wrapped up in me. 4. I’m terrible. I’m hostile. I’m always against you. But I am a friend. 5. The diligence blesses me. The froward curse me. What are you? I AM TIME. 6. Seek me early and In abundance, you shall find me Seek me late and In the scarcity of me, you shall wallow. 7. Feel you have me, Lost me, you’d just. Feel you lost me, In hast, you must be. 8. Yea, you wish, I know. That I could be friendlier. But this is who and what I am. Just time. Man Speaking!!! 9. Oh, time. A treasure, yet cruel. A blessing, yet a curse. In endless circles you are. 10. Fashioning every man’s destiny. From where did you spring? A limited counting you are, In regular intervals. 11. Regulating man’s every endeavour. Slow it is wh...

Nothing In Nature Lives For Itself.

By Costly Oma . I read some time ago how in 1892 at Stanford University, an 18-year-old student was struggling to pay his fees. He was an orphan, and not knowing where to turn for money, he came up with a bright idea. He and a friend decided to host a musical concert on campus to raise money for their education. They reached out to the great pianist Ignacy J. Paderewski. His manager demanded a guaranteed fee of $2000 for the piano recital. A deal was struck and the boys began to work to make the concert a success. The big day arrived. But unfortunately, they had not managed to sell enough tickets. The total collection was only $1600. Disappointed, they went to Paderewski and explained their plight. They gave him the entire $1600, plus a cheque for the balance of $400. They promised to honour the cheque at the soonest possible. “No,” said Paderewski. “This is not acceptable.” He tore up the cheque, returned the $1600 and told the two boys: “Here’s the $1600. Please deduct whatever expen...

My Death-Feelings So Far – Part 1

By Costly Oma . My Death Encounter Part - 1. ~~My Body Leaving My Body~~ Sometime in the first quarter of the year 2018, around 4 AM in the morning, while I was still in bed, I was woken up by a strong presence of what I can call death. I felt this chilled cold sweep past me, from the soul of my feet to the crown of my head. It was so dramatic as I feel like the cold was swallowing me, starting from the soul of my feet to the crown of my head. As I got completely engulfed by the cold, I woke up. I woke up and got down from the bed but I was still seeing myself lying on the bed. I stood up but it felt like I wasn’t the one standing as I was seeing another me lying in bed. I was obviously at this point confused as to what was happening as I am both standing and lying down at the same time. As I was yet to get my mind organised as to what was happening, I saw a thick dark cloud forming at the westside wall of the room. This thick dark cloud looks so dirty and it smells so bad. As this cl...

What Can I Do To Make Your Day Better

Richard Paul Evans and his wife Keri have been married for years and it got to a time, their marriage was no longer working as it should. As a matter of fact, things in their marriage got so bad that their oldest daughter, Jenna noticed. Here is what Richard Paul Evans , being a concerned Husband did and he Wrote. My oldest daughter, Jenna, recently said to me, “My greatest fear as a child was that you and mom would get divorced. Then, when I was 12, I decided that you fought so much that maybe it would be better if you did.” Then she added with a smile. “I’m glad you guys figured things out.” For years, my wife, Keri, and I struggled. Looking back, I’m not exactly sure what initially drew us together, but our personalities didn’t quite match up. And the longer we were married the more extreme the differences seemed. Encountering “fame and fortune” didn’t make our marriage any easier. In fact, it exacerbated our problems. The tension between us got so bad that going out on a book tour...

Know, Keep Knowing People In Our Lives

A doctor wrote, It was a busy morning, about 8:30 when an elderly gentleman in his 80s arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I wasn’t busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On examining it I saw it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors and got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while! As she is a victim of Alzheimer's disease . As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. H...

My Father - Poem

By Costly Oma .  1. Who for the thought of me drove him to her. Bringing their path closer more and more. Separated only just by time, distance, and chance. 2. He, Who despite the persistent blockages of life. And the persistent resistance from her persisted. Like in a tunnel, saw a light, me. 3. He who against all odds. Made a dream of me in his heart. And worked on it coming to pass. 4. He who laboured in the fields. Both in ash and favourable conditions. Not minding the vulnerabilities of the times. 5. He who cut and put up trees. He who tilled and cultivated the soil. Under the sun and in the rain. 6. He who crossed villages, towns, cities. He who trekked and paddled. Both under the sun and in the rain. 7. All these and more, you did. Just for me, you did. Just to make me a better person than you were. 8. Holding his hands while walking, Was like having every good thing I ever needed in my hands. And his walking-stick I was called by his pairs. 9. My father, My thoughts, you gu...

What The Coming Back Of Your EX Truly Means

By Costly Oma . "Sometimes your EX comes back around to check if you are still stupid. Sometimes your boyfriend comes back around to check if you are still stupid." Those statements above or the statements that seemed like those ones above have been around for a long time now and I'm sure that social media is housing quite a lot of such statements presently. I've never quite agreed with any of such statements from the start but I really did not want to say anything about it because as far as I'm concerned, people are subject to having their own opinion about things as such. Surprisingly, the long-overdue opinion I didn't want to share was triggered by a post from someone I thought to think differently on the subject. I've not met this person before but we have been following each other's activities for quite some time and I was surprised to visit this person's wall on this day and be greeted with "Sometimes your EX comes back around to check i...

What Determines The Unsafe Period Of A Menstrual Cycle

The menstrual cycle is called the menstrual cycle because the counting of it takes the form of a cycle. When one counting stops, another starts. Two cycles do not breach into each other. Each cycle is independent. The menstrual cycle count has been known and said to be of an average of 28-days in more women all over the world. This means that more women in the world have a 28-day menstrual cycle count. Now some women have their menstrual cycle count to be as low as 21-days and some have their menstrual cycle count to be as high as 35-days count. No matter the one you fall into, you are perfectly normal and have absolutely nothing to worry about. There are different periods that the menstrual cycle comes with and in this article, we will be talking about one, which is the unsafe period and what determines the unsafe period of the menstrual cycle. But before we go on to talk about the unsafe period of the menstrual cycle and what determines the unsafe period of the menstrual cycle, let’s...

Sight Building Emotions - Poem

By Costly Oma . 1. From a sight, it all started, And then, the building began. craving for more, I became unrest. 2. As time passes, I find myself lingering, And then, sight turns into a stare.  3 As the stares lingered, unconsciously by me, Something else developed. 4. From the mist, A picture was forming, As the clouds form around the earth.  5. This picture grew, This picture developed, A picture of incomprehensible desire. 6. Forget not, I can, Those steps of angelic strides, On that beautiful bright day.  7. The steps as they are, With rhythmical dynamics, That forced my mouth to open up. 8. Wanting you, I began. And slowly, the quest started. The journey of making you mine.  9. To be careful, I must, As the road could be filled with unknowns, For me to not step on a landmine. 10. Here I am still, Still wanting, still craving. Hear my plea, And grant my wish of our togetherness.

A Feel Of Completeness - Poem

By Costly Oma . 1. In time immemorial, I’ve dreamt of a time, A time of a privileged completeness A time of absolute fullness. 2. Envisaging the time, Gives cutis anserina, Reminiscing pictures I’ve had, Results in anticipating despair.    3. A day came, Another opportunity was spotted, And swiftly a chance was taken, Then a link was established. 4. The waters were troubled, Waves were generated, And particles shuffled, But the link held on.   5. Here we are now, With an almost enflamed rift, We’ve ducked our sail, On the shores of completeness. 6. Yea, we’ve ducked. But it’s not the end, The journey continues still, And we can only take a step at a time.

In My Country

By Costly Oma . 29. In my country, sometimes, WAEC will declare you excellent only for NECO to come and write you off of any academic pursuit. 28. And at times in my country, WAEC will paralyze every sense of sense in you since it usually comes first in the year and then, NECO will come later to tell you, you are not so bad after all. 27. There is no smooth or straight sail of success in my country as vices are everywhere ready to pull you down. It is almost like baptism. If you are not baptised into a fold, you seem like an alien to that fold. 26. In my country, almost everyone has been baptized into the spirit of my country except for a very few people who I would say are lucky to have escaped the baptism. 25. In my country, even if WAEC and NECO set your sail going, JAMB might render you useless and make your ship motionless for years if it cares. 24. And at times, in my country, JAMB may set your colours flying only for your university to declare you useless, worthless and i...

Choosing The Sex Of Your Baby.

The Shettle's Method By Costly Oma . This post is all about having the knowledge that will enable us to choose the sex of our babies. That is, having the knowledge to choose whether as couples, we want to have a male child or we want to have a female child at any time that we want to add a child to the family.  This method of course is Shettle's method of choosing the sex of our babies. It is called the Shettle's method because the method was named after the person who invented it  Landrum B. Shettles in the 1960s. This Shettle's method was published in the book How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby , coauthored by Shettles and David Rorvik . The book How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby was first published in 1971 and has been in print in various editions ever since. Although this method has been said to not have strong scientific proof, people who have followed the method have testified to have been able to choose the sex of the baby they want to have and they said that ...
